Production

Rough advert Planning the shoot allowed me to be more successful when recording as my crew at that point knew what they had to do and didn't create confusion. In the production I operated the camera as I knew most what I wanted to shoot and how it would shot. This production was used to give me a sense of what I want the final piece to look like by seeing my mistakes and making sure that it will not happen again. For example, some shots seem to be out of focus and the placement of my product is not perfect as of when the phone is near the edge of the table it takes away from the phone itself. The experience was very helpful as I now know how to place my product in a way so all attention is drawn to it as well as focus during shots. In this shoot I was working with a cast. It was successful as I was able to direct the actor to do what I wanted and no problems arose. To make it better I am going to make sure that the camera is set to how I want and have multiple takes so I...

Evaluation

Evaluating my final print and video adverts Overall I Believe my project was a success in terms of satisfying what I wanted to produce. I was able to complete all adverts in the amounted time so I didn't run into issues regarding time. My moving image piece I believe was suitable for its intended purpose as it stuck to promoting the iPhone 6S’s features and what the phone dominates in regarding app running and photo taking and storage. I believe the most successful part of the advert is the final section which outlines the processors ability to run games. I believe this is the best part as it shows actual gameplay I recorded on the phone itself using the screen record function. Also the way the advert finishes feels very clean and simplistic which is the theme I am going with throughout the adverts. The simplistic theme is to give the phone this sense of formality and smart designs. If I was allowed more time to work on the adverts then I believe I would’ve been able to ga...

Idea

Idea Idea 1; My first thought for my advert will be inspired by the Samsung advert from my research. It will be a showcase of the phone internals. This follows the path of logos as I will be giving statistical data and figures about the processor, ram, memory, etc. My main focus will be the camera details and will be the main focus of the print covering most of it is text. The phone will also be displayed behind the text as the text will act as an overlay. My first video based advert idea will be very similar to the Google pixel advert in the case that i will be taking cinematic shots of the phone. I believe it gives the phone a sense of exclusivity to the phone and aesthetically it looks pleasing. By appealing visually the audience are more likely to consume the product. The advert will also have narration explaining its features but will not be crowded narration and there will be breaks where music plays. The music will be upbeat and energetic to relate to the phones cap...

Introduction

Introduction We have been tasked to create a 30 second advert and 3 print based media products on an already invented product. To do this I will need to research into current advertisements being shown on television. I will have to note how they portray their product in a successful way by their use of mise-en-scene, dialogue, transitions, etc. I am going to watch two adverts that relate to my product to see specifically how adverts are created when they are based around certain products. The usual adverts that interest me are technology based adverts as they seem to have the best visuals and capture the product very well. This shows how they are such a powerful tool in current television as they easily grab attention if interesting and appealing to the dedicated audience.

Research

Research Target Audience For several adverts there will be a dedicated audience that it will need to appeal to. For example a phone advert or new piece of technology advert will appeal to users and owners of these items or people who are in the need of them. To do this the advert will outline the best features and parts of that product. An example would be outlining the camera on a phone and its abilities. Most TV commercials for smartphones, and many other pieces of modern technology, concentrate on pushing the “features and benefits” in an established, easy to understand way. Throw in a celebrity or two, an upbeat piece of music, and some monolithic shots of the device itself. https://www.digitaltrends.com/mobile/agm-x2-tv-commercial-funny-news/ Above shows a valid reliable secondary source of data. In this quote they have spoken about outlining the features as well as benefits. This has to be easy to understand so all viewers can comprehend it. For me when featuring the pho...
